Our emcee, Lanie Pope from WXII-12 introduced acts that included magic, instrumentals, singing, and clogging.  Danny Crouse performed some Elvis and the Star Catchers of Forsyth Tech were inspirational. The judges Danny Crouse, Janine Hawley (UNC School of the Arts) and Ed Skurka (600AM WSJS) brought their expertise to the program with their comments following each performance. You can watch videos clips of the evening on our Facebook page.

A  Night of Talent is a showcase of the talented seniors in the Triad area. Contestants are 55 years of age or older and are gifted in many different ways. All entertainment acts perform at an audition, with judges, about 6 weeks prior to the actual event. The acts are selected on their talent and entertainment value. Ten top acts are selected to perform in the event. On the evening of the actual show each act performs in front of three judges and 400+ community supporters. The judges select the Kernersville Senior Idol. There is also a People’s Choice Award given, which is decided by the community in attendance.

The proceeds earned from A Night of Talent benefit the Senior Enrichment Center in Kernersville, a program of The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville.
